Frequently asked questions
How is this different from drawing a black box?
A drawn box only covers content; the text underneath can still be copied. Redaction here rebuilds each affected page as an image with the boxes burned in, so the original text and graphics on those pages no longer exist in the file. We then check the result to confirm no text is left inside the redacted areas.
Can I still search the redacted pages?
Pages with redactions become images. Run OCR PDF afterwards if you need them to be searchable again.
